Course Overview
This course consists of a full day of didactic lectures designed to keep the dermatologist and dermasurgeon abreast of the rapid changes occurring in the areas of wound healing, changes in the healthcare environment, high-risk non-melanoma skin cancers, seeing beyond a diagnosis, new developments in dermatology.
Learning Objectives :
Dermatology and cutaneous surgery are increasingly complex fields of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and procedures that require continual education over the course of a career. The Colorado Dermatologic Society sets to achieve the following objectives :
• Increase confidence in managing or appropriately referring, high-risk patients with non-melanoma skin cancer for therapy via surgery, antineoplastic drugs, radiation therapy and other forms of adjuvant therapy or combination therapy.
• Physicians will identify the latest wound care healing technology.
• Assess the latest regulations and insurance policies effecting dermatology patient care.
• Identify how visual arts impact the field of dermatology and taking into consideration the appearance of a patient when treating certain conditions.
• Examine current SCC staging systems & data to support prognostic estimates.
• Assess knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of common pediatric dermatologic conditions.
At the conclusion of the conference, the participant should be able to apply this knowledge and implement the presented changes in his or her clinical practice.
