Clinical Audit Masterclass (Nov, 2016)

Clinical Audit Masterclass is a one-day course that provides delegates with a full understanding of the clinical audit process and includes information and advice on how to carry out clinical audit to an advanced level.

In recent years clinical audit has gained momentum primarily as it enables individuals, teams and NHS providers to measure how current care compares to best practice. Evidence of effective clinical audit is expected at many levels, starting with doctors who must demonstrate successful involvement in quality improvement and clinical audit projects to meet their revalidation requirements through to NHS Trusts that must publish Quality Accounts, take part in mandatory national audits and show the Care Quality Commission that audit is improving patient care.

Objectives:

• Clinical audit fundamentals – what it is, what it isn’t, appreciating the process and understanding how to conduct a successful clinical audit project
• Understanding barriers to clinical audit and tips for overcoming these
• Critiquing clinical audits and looking at what makes a good clinical audit project report
• Embedding a culture of clinical audit at a local level – what helps?
• What next – how is clinical audit likely to evolve over the next decade and what plans should we be putting into place?
• The main aim of this course is to provide you with the key skills to undertake a successful clinical audit project
