That is why the Dental Board of California requires successful certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for all dentists and dental employees at least once every two years. The Los Angeles Dental Society CPR course follows the American Heart Association's guidelines and satisfies the BLS requirement by providing instruction in: foreign-body airway obstruction; relief of choking for adults, children and infants, use of automated external defibrillation with CPR.
