Dr van der Kolk will explore the power and limitations of putting experience into words, the effects of trauma on intimacy, and ways to help mind and brain to fully engage in present experience by improving executive functioning.

This seminar workshop will consist of lecture demonstrations of the effects of trauma on brain function, experiential exercises, clinical demonstrations and videotaped treatment sessions to illustrate the diagnostic steps necessary to formulate the optimal therapeutic interventions for each individual client/patient.
