This Course is intended for instructional training in the operative treatment of orthognathic procedures for patients with facial deformities/ jaw discrepancies as well as soft tissue procedures for obstructive sleep apnea.

The evolution of Orthognathic principles and practices, combined with knowledge of recent advances has helped the clinician more effectively treat challenging surgical cases. Recent advances such as virtual surgical planning have greatly improved the treatment of patients undergoing orthognathic surgery.
The evaluation and treatment of patients with facial deformities continues to be a challenging problem, even for the most experienced surgeons. Obstructive sleep apnea is endemic and associated with significant morbidity. Treatment varies based on various factors and many patients may benefit from maxillomandibular advancement (MMA)

At the conclusion of this course, the participant should be able to :
• Demonstrate the use of virtual surgical planning to plan complex orthognathic surgeries
• Describe basic surgical principles with regard to surgical procedures to address dentofacial deformities
• Describe basic surgical principles with regard to surgical procedures to address obstruction sleep apnea
