Advanced Skills in Coloproctology

Advanced Skills in Coloproctology is organized by The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS) and would be held on Nov 22, 2016 at The Royal College of Surgeons of England - London, England, United Kingdom. The targeted audience for this medical event basically for Colorectal Surgeons, ST5-8 and SAS Grades. This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 12 CPD points.

This course aims to develop the skills acquired on Specialty Skills in Coloproctology and offers the opportunity to expand surgical practice. Exploring the management of a wide range of colorectal conditions, both benign and malignant, participants on this course will have the opportunity to study colorectal anatomy, and practice abdominal and pelvic dissection upon cadavers.

. Surgical Anatomy of the Pelvis and TME
. Evaluation and management of perianal sepsis and fistula in ano
. The management of rectal prolapse
. Procedures for Benign Anorectal Disease
. Pelvic Dissection for Benign and Malignant Disease, including Rectopexy
. Assessment and procedures for rectal cancer
. The surgical management of Crohn’s disease

Learning Outcomes :

By the end of the course the participants will be able to :
. Define anorectal disease and carry out the formation of an anal advancement flap
. Describe the methods used to assess different types of rectal prolapse
. Explain potential complications for rectal prolapse procedures and routes
. Discuss the management of faecal incontinence
. Describe and discuss the methods of assessment and management of constipation
. Discuss the assessment methods for rectal cancer
