OVERVIEW
ACCESS and Telemedicine Conference is organized by The University of New Mexico and would be held during Mar 18 - 19, 2016 at Embassy Suites Hotel Albuquerque, Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States Of America. The targeted audience for this medical event basically for emergency medical services, emergency medicine physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, critical care clinicians and hospitalists.
The goals of the ACCESS program are to help reduce cost by decreasing preventable transfers and increasing staff's comfort level with neurological care management through telemedicine consultations, education and process support. This CME conference has been approved with 10.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Topics will include:
ACCESS and Telemedicine present and future, role of the telehealth coordinator, taking care of your patient using information and communication technology, managing patients with acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, acute seizures and status epilepticus in the emergency department.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the conference, participants should be able to:
1. Identify telemedicine current and future applications in accessing expert neurological consultation in a rural setting.
2. Describe benefits and challenges of providing timely access to neuro-emergent specialty care through telemedicine consultation, education and process support.
3. Discuss the importance of the ACCESS and Telemedicine Programs key goal in providing better healthcare by overcoming disparities in access to care throughout New Mexico.
