Target Audience :
This course is designed for practicing physicians, nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in gastroenterology, internal medicine, family practice, gastrointestinal surgery as well as Fellows in the field.
Overview of Course :
Advances in diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders challenge GI practitioners to remain up-to-date on the most current data. This course addresses recent developments in the fields of inflammatory bowel disease and hepatology, and offers a comprehensive review of all areas of gastroenterology.
Objectives :
After this course participants will be able to:
• Discuss innovative endoscopic therapies for achalasia, locally invasive colorectal cancer, pancreatic pseudocysts, and strictures in Crohn’s disease patients.
• Describe how Cleveland Clinic physicians approach and resolve controversies in the management of GERD, IBS, chromoendoscopy in IBD, TIPS timing, liver transplantation timing, Barrett’s esophagus, and biosimilar use in IBD.
• Review the latest recommendations for management of patients with acute and chronic pancreatitis Critically review ongoing research projects from the Department of Gastroenterology at the Cleveland Clinic.
