OVERVIEW

4th Annual University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Review of Clinical Neurology is organized by David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and would be held during Sep 23 - 25, 2016 at Neuroscience Research Building (NRB) Auditorium - UCLA Campus, Los Angeles, California, United States Of America.

The target audience for this medical event basically for practicing neurologists either in private, health groups, and/or academic practice as well as neurology, psychiatry, neurosurgery trainees (residents, fellows). The course will also be very helpful for allied health care providers in neuroscience specialties (psychologists, physician assistants, nurses and nurse practitioners, speech pathologists and physical and occupational therapists). This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 23.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits offering.

The course is organized to provide attendees with a review of clinical neurology based on major disease topics. Each neurological core topic will be organized to provide a summary of the clinical spectrum of the disorders, pathophysiology, etiology, diagnostic techniques and management options.

Objectives :

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to :
• Utilize most current evidenced-based practices to improve confidence in diagnosing and managing major disease states in neurology, including multiple sclerosis, headaches, epilepsy, CNS infections, movement disorders, dementia, sleep disorders, delirium, neuromuscular diseases, neurootology, neurorehabilitation, neuroophthalmology and ethical issues in neurology
• Discuss neurologic disease in pregnancy, immunocompromised patients and emergency neurology
• Use neurologic testing in an efficient and resource-responsible fashion
• Interpret test abnormalities that are related to the patient complaint
• Discuss the approach to patients with psychosomatic disorders
• Identify, articulate and apply ethical principles to the care of patients with complex and terminal neurological disorders
• Understand principles of psychopharmacology as applied to Neurologic disorders

• Effective, evidence-based treatment options based on recent publications of the American Academy of Neurology Practice Guidelines
