35th EPIC-SEC : Emory Practical Intervention Course - Southeast Consortium

The Emory Practical Intervention Course (EPIC) has been an annual event since 1981 providing training for thousands of interventional cardiologists from the United States and abroad. Last year, EPIC became the Emory Practical Intervention Course-Southeast Consortium (EPIC SEC) with twelve academic centers participating. This year we are honored to announce that fifteen academic medical centers will actively contribute to this clinical, educational and research consortium and to EPIC SEC. EPIC SEC 2016 is a cutting-edge update of the newest strategies in coronary, structural heart, and peripheral vascular imaging, physiology and intervention. Cardiovascular practice has never evolved more rapidly than today as cardiologists and surgeons collaborate to offer exciting new options for patients in need of percutaneous and minimally invasive hybrid therapies. Arteries, valves, veins, infarcting and hypertrophied myocardium and other anatomic sites are targets for intervention and symptom relief and are involved in a vast array of cardiovascular pathologies including STEMI, unstable angina/non-STEMI, cardiogenic shock, aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, acute stroke, claudication and limb salvage, chronic valvular and perivalvular defects, adult congenital heart disease, and many other conditions. This course will feature the cumulative wisdom of 15 academic centers with live case demonstrations, lectures, presentations and discussions of complex cases, debates between well-known interventionalists and surgeons, and the opportunity for insightful audience participation and discussion. The national concern regarding appropriate selection for diagnostic studies and intervention will be addressed in detail. The conference will feature joint sessions, as well as dedicated tracks for coronary, structural and peripheral intervention.

The 2015 EPIC-SEC conference was approved of 20 credits.
