OVERVIEW

Risk assessment utilization in decision-making for restorative care will be discussed and related to recommendations made by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry for restorative dental care in children, including the use of amalgam, glass ionomer cement, resin-based composite, stainless steel crowns, strip crowns and zirconia crowns. Enamel microabrasion and vital tooth bleaching in children will be discussed and treatment modalities recommended. This course will include current information from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's Pediatric Restorative Dentistry Symposium, as well as the American Dental Association's evidence-based recommendations on topical fluoride and sealants.
