2nd Symposium of North American Aortic Valve Repair is organized by Continuing Medical Education - Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and would be held during Sep 09 - 10, 2016 at Hotel Sofitel Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The target audience for this medical event are basically for cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, residents and fellows with an interest in aortic valve repair.
The purpose of this activity is to provide in-depth analysis and procedural understanding of both bicuspid and 3 cusp aortic valve repair and valve sparing aortic root surgery. Additionally, this symposium will provide technical and conceptual pearls related to aortic valve repair. This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 13.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Learning Objectives :
• Apply learned techniques toward repairing diseased bicuspid and 3-cusp aortic valves
• Describe the functional anatomy of the aortic valve complex
• Employ the echocardiographic approach to aortic valve repair as a guide to surgical decision making
• Explain the principles and advantages of native aortic valve repair for both bicuspid and 3-cusp valves
• Discuss the impact that geometric aortic valve differences have on valve repair outcomes and reconstructive strategies.
