OVERVIEW
17th Update : Travel Medicine and Global Health is organized by University of Washington School of Medicine and would be held during Jul 15 - 17, 2016 at Husky Union Building, University of Washington Campus - Seattle, WA. The target audience for this medical conference basically for on-specialist medical providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses and other allied health professionals.
This conference will provide an overview of travel medicine and global health.
Travel medicine topics will include immunizations, malaria prophylaxis, travelers diarrhea, and other topics salient to caring for those who travel to low-income nations.
Global health topics will include medical professionals volunteering overseas, and working in complex humanitarian emergencies. Information will be presented via plenary lectures and smaller audience break-out workshops.
Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:
1. Prepare pre-travel patients for travel to low-income nations.
2. Review opportunities to volunteer for overseas medical service.
3. Recognize common threats to travelers to low-income nations.
