OVERVIEW
13th Annual Emergency Medicine Hot Topics is organized by UC Davis Health System and would be held during Oct 04 - 08, 2016 at The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui, Hawaii, United States of America.
The target audience includes physicians specializing in emergency medicine, internal medicine, general and family practice, critical care as well as nurses, physician assistants, and pharmacists providing a multidisciplinary approach to improve patient care.
The course is designed to change physician competence in areas identified in the needs assessments, including cardiac, neurologic, trauma, pediatric, elderly and general medical emergencies. This year’s four-day conference will specifically address these identified educational needs and provide practitioners with state-of-the-art tools to provide improved treatment options for their patients. This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ offering.
Educational Objectives :
At the end of the activity, participants should be able to :
• Apply the pertinent medical knowledge in adult and pediatric diagnosis and resuscitation
• Discuss the management of patients with head trauma, geriatric patients, and obese patients
• Outline the approach and tools used in difficult airway management
• Perform ultrasound for ocular complaints, flank pain, and dyspnea
• Incorporate new guidelines for cardiac arrest care
• Choose evidence-based treatment for anticoagulant reversal
• Identify and appropriately treat infants with fever and children with DKA.
