OVERVIEW

Musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging has evolved into a powerful tool that requires a high degree of skill to navigate sonoanatomy using the latest instrumentation. This 1.5 day course will cover the basic techniques and applications of diagnostic and interventional sports/musculoskeletal ultrasound in the major joints of the body related to sports medicine injuries.

Educational Objectives
1. Perform scans of peripheral joints
2. Describe the indications and contra-indications for ultrasound-guided procedures
3. Recognize where to place the needle (ie: the target) for ultrasound-guided injections of the peripheral joints
4. Perform therapeutic injections of tendon sheaths and joints under ultrasound guidance
