Tennessee Department of Health Chronic Pain Guidelines and Controlled Substance Abuse Efforts (Aug 13, 2015)

Acute and chronic pain are among the most common reasons for physician visits and for taking medication. The treatment of pain could lead to or coincide with misuse or abuse of prescription drugs. Chronic Pain Guidelines will be taught to address opioid misuse and abuse from the perspectives of a physician, a pharmacist, and a mid-level provider.
