The mission of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.
MD Anderson Cancer Center has held symposia on cancer research for more than 60 years. In the early years, this meeting covered all of cancer research, providing an annual overview of new scientific findings and new developments in patient care. In recent years, more focused topics were selected, reflecting the enormous growth in the spectrum of cancer research at MD Anderson and in the field in general. Over the past decade, these topics were closely tied to our institutional research themes.
