CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
* Discuss screening for and diagnosis of mental health and behavioral disorders in a
primary care/clinic setting including depression, anxiety, dementia, substance abuse
and bipolar disorder.
* Explore available pharmacologic interventions for mental health and behavioral
disorders seen commonly in primary care.
* Discover how genetic testing can be used to individualize medication treatment, and
how this process is being successfully implemented in primary care.
* Evaluate non-pharmacologic therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, for treatment of
obesity, eating disorders, pain and mood disorders.
* Become familiar with tools and guidelines available to assist in the screening process,
including tips on how to conduct a psychiatric interview in the primary care setting.
