Rehabilitation is widely considered an essential component for successful recovery after cartilage repair, and return to sports represents the most important outcome parameter for the injured athlete. Therefore, This ICRS Focus Meeting will mainly focus on Rehabilitation and Return to Sports. Articular cartilage injuries are frequently observed in sports activity and often result in significant limitation of sports participation, or can be career ending. Current cartilage repair techniques have shown promising results in returning athletes to their sport, but opinions on rehabilitation and return to sport are still controversial.
