Improving Patient Safety : You have the Power

This continuing education activity has been designed with a focus on patient safety. You, the provider have the power to ensure the surgical patient has an experience that results in satisfaction as well as protection from surgical site infections. Content will address how the provider can optimize the surgical experience for the patient, utilize effective communication skills to connect with the patient and make them “raving fans”, and implementing safe practices to protect the patient from surgical site infections. Group activities and audience response questions will enableinteraction between faculty and the attendees. A hands-on workshop is planned to review safe use of instrumentation designed to protect the patient.
