OVERVIEW

The Fifth Annual Fetal Echocardiography Symposium at UCLA will provide attendees with another thoroughly revised, but still clinically oriented dynamic series of state-of-the-art presentations directed toward all health-care professionals involved with fetal cardiac screening and fetal echocardiography. An internationally acclaimed faculty (ultrasonography, maternal fetal medicine and pediatric cardiology) will present an extensive clinical review and update on the performance and interpretation of fetal cardiac imaging, focusing on tips and pearls gained from decades of experience. Through clinically-oriented presentations and live scanning sessions, attendees will update their understanding of the newest guidelines for fetal cardiac imaging. Presentations will review key aspects of how to optimize image quality, how to scan and evaluate the normal fetal heart, and how to evaluate abnormalities of the four chamber view, outflow tracts and the three-vessel view. More advanced presentations will review important clinical pearls related to pulsed/color Doppler, arrhythmias, heterotaxy, heart failure and hydrops. Opportunities for questions and discussion will be provided.
