OVERVIEW

The Expert lectures, moderated case discussions and cadaveric bio-skills sessions will cover rarely discussed complications on both the initial and latter phases of adoption. Learn peri- and intraoperative pearls to safely and successfully perform minimally invasive procedures including: multilevel percutaneous pedicle screws with rod passage; bilateral decompression through a unilateral approach; multilevel MIS TLIF; and lateral surgery.

Upon completion of this course, participants should gain strategies to:

1. Identify preoperative radiographic and patient comorbid risk factors that may increase the risk of complication associated with MIS spine surgery;
2. Address intraoperative complications with salvage techniques and alternative strategies to address complex pathology;
3. Perform challenging cases that include multilevel decompression and instrumentation as well as challenging levels to access;
Identify postoperative complications and their management.
