Objectives:

• Differentiate between common postmortem/therapeutic findings and antemortem injuries.
• Become more skilled at assessing a death scene.
• Collect the needed information that the forensic toxicologist/pathologist will need to interpret postmortem toxicology findings.
• Recognize the possibility of various causes and manners of deaths that can occur for water-related fatalities.
• Be able to formulate a protocol in the investigation of perinatal deaths and animal-related fatalities.
