OVERVIEW
As the surgical options available to our patients have increased and the technology surrounding gynecologic surgery continues to rapidly evolve, staying up-to-date with the latest developments has become more challenging than ever especially in light of the many controversies surrounding minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. This post-graduate course offering is designed to provide participants with a totally interactive experience as the techniques and issues related to minimally invasive surgical approaches and currently available technology are addressed. Video-based surgical tutorials and lectures will be strategically woven throughout live interactive cadaveric demonstrations by nationally recognized faculty. Practical tips and pearls will be provided in the areas of laparoscopic hysterectomy, adnexal and retroperitoneal dissection, and trans-vaginal surgery. The proper use of robotics and new energy devices will be covered along with single site laparoscopy. Techniques such as laparoscopic suturing and tissue extraction will be addressed in hands-on workshops. Space will be limited so sign up early. Finally, optimization of patient safety and both minimization and management of complex peri-operative scenarios will be addressed through interactive case presentations with invited responses from both audience and faculty.
