OVERVIEW

The purpose of the American Society of Hypertension's continuing medical education (CME) program is to contribute to the Society's overall mission of promoting and encouraging the development, advancement and exchange of scientific information in all aspects of research, awareness, prevention, detection, evaluation, treatment and control of hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases to reduce their morbidity and mortality.
The CME mission of the Society is achieved by the application and implementation of ACCME Essentials and Guidelines in educational activities of the Society intended to educate and improve the clinical skills of physicians and other health care providers through various educational formats.

The increase in physicians' knowledge and clinical skills will facilitate and foster a change in their behavior leading to improvements in clinical outcomes and ultimately a reduction in the morbidity and mortality from hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases.
