OVERVIEW

Vascular Biology 2014 consists of two workshops (eight sessions each) and other symposia. The Developmental Vascular Biology & Genetics Workshop has become the premiere meeting for developmental vascular biology researchers, with cutting-edge, unpublished research findings presented on molecular control of vascular development, cell signaling pathways in angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, and mechanisms of patterning blood vessel growth and migration. The Vascular Inflammation Workshop covers this critical topic in vascular biology with major implications for vascular diseases, including hypertension and atherosclerosis. It also has important intersections with vascular development and genetics, vascular regeneration, angiogenesis, stem cell biology, and vascular differentiation. The closing general session will focus on emerging vascular therapeutics that have a direct impact on cancer and diseases of the eye. In addition, the Microcirculatory Society (MCS) is co-sponsoring three symposia to complement and enhance the workshops’ programs and showcase the integration of microcirculation with developmental biology and inflammation. The HHT Foundation International (HHT) is sponsoring the symposium, Molecular Mechanisms Underlying the Vascular Disorder Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia. The integration of new, mid-level and established investigators is highlighted throughout with extensive opportunities for trainee involvement with talks in each session. This integrative meeting will encourage additional cross-disciplinary discussions and enhance the mutual education of all attendees. Exhibitors are welcome!
