UCSF/ Queen's Medical Center - Innovative Procedures, Devices, and State of the Art Care for Arrhythmias, Heart Failure, and Structural Cardiac Disease

There has been a very rapid explosion in the breadth of both pharmacologic as well as device-related therapies and our main objective will be to review the indications for the myriad of therapeutic options available for managing patients in an increasingly complex medical landscape.
Based on previous experience, we will use small group workshops to further refine and focus our message to clinicians with various experiences in the management of these patients. We are very fortunate to have many world-renowned experts participating as faculty this year.
Some of the highlights of the conference will include:
• Small Group workshop focused on the development of a hospital-based heart failure readmission reduction program.
• In-depth discussion about left atrial appendage exclusion with several of the field’s experts, Dr. Saibal Kar, Dr. Randall Lee, and Dr. Brian Whisenant.
• Small group heart dissection with UCSF’s cardiac pathologist, Dr. Phillip Ursell.
• Exploring the role of genetic evaluation for patients with life threatening cardiac arrhythmias with electrophysiology pioneer Dr. Melvin Scheinman.
• Focus on risk stratification and management for young athletes with cardiac disease.
This year’s conference will be held in Honolulu on the beautiful island of Oahu.
