OVERVIEW

The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission requires any organization using radioactive materials to designate a radiation safety officer (RSO) responsible for radiation protection matters. Radiation Safety Officer Training is designed to meet these licensing requirements and allow your organization to update or apply for a radioactive materials license.

This course provides the hands-on experience necessary to act as a radiation safety officer in laboratory settings. It is unique in concentrating specifically on radionuclides used in laboratory facilities and the challenges facing laboratory RSOs. Optional sessions allow you to focus your learning on radiation protection topics relevant to your work.

You will learn to implement a radiation protection program, comply with regulatory requirements, and maintain a safe laboratory environment. During the course, you will gain an understanding of important compliance issues and the skills needed to protect employees and patients.
