OVERVIEW
This course will provide an overview of Laser Medicine, its basic science foundations, and current clinical applications with specific emphasis on dentistry. This course will provide the participant with the didactic material regarding the mechanics of laser design, laser operation and laser use in medical and dental applications. The hands on training session will allow the participant to understand the different effects of each laser used based on unique characteristics and specific settings of the device. Wavelengths to be used include 810nm and 2940nm. The participant will learn of safety concerns, precautions and regulations as they apply to the use of lasers both in the clinical and research settings. The course is intended to give the participant laser training necessary to be credentialed for laser use.
