OVERVIEW

The inaugural 2014 Gordon Research Seminar on "Drug Carriers in Medicine and Biology" is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other drug delivery scientists in the fields of cancer, immunology, and structural biology to gather, network, and build relationships with investigators from across the globe. The Drug Carriers GRS aims to bring together researchers from both academia and the biotech/pharmaceutical industries to exchange late-breaking research and cutting-edge ideas in an informal setting, designed to promote discussion and feedback between peers and select senior investigators.

The focus of this meeting is on advances in antibody and protein-based drug carrier engineering, synthetic nanosystems as tissue-specific delivery agents, and cell-based therapeutics for use in cancer, immune, infectious, and neurological disease. The overarching theme will focus on understanding the biological fate of engineered drug carriers as well as the design considerations, hurdles, and opportunities of utilizing drug carriers to treat human disease.
