OVERVIEW

This program is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the most r ecent information on the risk factors and pathophysiology responsible for the development of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). And w ith a combination of didactic presentations and small group breakout sessions led by experts in the field, the curriculum provides an updated approach to the evaluation and management of patients with chronic thromboembolic disease. In addition, topics such as post thromboendarterectomy outcomes, the appropriate use of medical therapy in CTEPH, and the controversial role of newer anticoagulants, IVC filters, and pulmonary angioplasty will be addressed. The course content has been designed to provide state-of-the-art, clinically relevant topics to enhance the clinician’ s practice in the treatment of CTEPH patients.
