OVERVIEW
The Advanced Airway Endoscopy Course focuses on advanced airway management techniques including flexible fiberoptics, video laryngoscopes, and surgical airways.
We review airway anatomy using a variety of imaging modalities and discuss critical care cases involving difficult airway management. In addition we review rescue ventilation devices, strategies to prevent desaturation, and the use of non-invasive ventilation and oxygenation devices.
Attendees practice nasoendoscopy using sterile sheaths on themselves and each other. Specialized and custom designed airway manikins provide anatomic variation for hands-on practice with various laryngoscopes, fiberscopes, and surgical devices.
