OVERVIEW
This one-day course aims to build on the successes of the last five years and will explore the issues surrounding marginal control in head and neck oncology.
Evidence-based lectures will focus on how the extent of disease can best be assessed prior to intervention, how margins can be secured during treatment and what additional strategies can be employed in cases of margin-positivity. The day will address these issues on the basis of anatomical site – primary modality treatment and disease pathology. The oral cavity, pharynx and larynx will be considered along with the neck and salivary glands. Cutaneous malignancy as well as mucosal disease will be discussed. The afternoon will conclude with interactive, case-based discussions.
