5th Annual National Update on Behavioral Emergencies

Experts from the fields of emergency medicine and psychiatry will present a broad array of topics germane to care of the patient with a behavioral emergency. The speakers will also include a representative from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Reimbursement and National Alliance on Mental Illness. The topics will include when to send the suicidal patient home, ketamine use, deadly psychiatric emergencies and dealing with psychiatric boarders. A pre-conference seminar will be held on process improvement in the setting of psychiatric emergencies sponsored by the Institute for Behavioral Healthcare Improvement. The conference attendees represent emergency medicine, emergency psychiatry, nursing, social work, psychologists and other health care providers.
