OVERVIEW

This course is designed for General and Specialty Surgeons and non-surgical physicians interested in the followingsurgical areas: colorectal, endocrine, breast, hernia, minimally invasive, hepatobiliary, surgical oncology, and traumaand critical care surgery. The intended result of this activity is improvements in competence, performance and patientcare and at the conclusion of the course the registrant should be able to: Discuss the pitfalls of hepatobiliary surgery in patients with significant comorbid disease.

Discuss advances in the management of patients with esophageal malignancies. compare and analyze new techniques and evidence in the diagnosis and management of breast cancer. Discuss the role of non-surgical specialists in treating surgical complications. Explain the evaluation and treatment of patients with surgical diseases of the endocrine system. Explain the safe evaluation and surgical treatment of pregnant patients.
