2014 NC Society of Pathologists Annual Meeting and Shelley Lecture

This course is designed for practicing and academic pathologists, fellows, residents, and medical students, particularly those with an interest or involvement in genitourinary pathology. Many general pathologists see specimens from the genitourinary system sites; this activity will provide updated information from experts in the field to avoid misdiagnosis and to provide accurate prognostic information to clinicians.

An open-discussion lunch roundtable will be featured, allowing state societies the opportunity to share best practices and challenges, and we will present non-clinical updates exploring the changing regulatory and health care environments and their effect on the practice of pathology. The Friday dinner will feature remembrances of the late Dr. Shelley, along with a presentation addressing the challenges of participating in accountable care organizations under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
