2014 James W. Freston Conference — Therapeutic Innovations in Microbiome Research and Technology: A Further Look into Fecal Microbiota Transplantation
In-Person EventAug 16 - 17, 2014Chicago, Illinois, USA
Speakers
OVERVIEW
Join international experts to examine how fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) has reached innovative heights as well as prompted more aggressive research in utilizing gut microbiota to treat various GI disorders. Attendees will address issues regarding translational studies of FMT, including its safety and efficacy in the clinical setting. Investigators will be able to explore how FMT impacts the treatment of C. difficile infection, IBD, and whether FMT has the potential to serve as a remedy for more prevalent diseases such as obesity.
The scheduled breakout sessions will also allow for more focused learning on specific aspects of FMT — from implementing protocols to emerging applications — and provide additional opportunities for networking with faculty and colleagues.
Physicians are eligible to receive 12 MOC points for attending the Freston Conference.
