OVERVIEW

2014 CME Application Objectives:

»»Improve the performance of ERCP and EUS in the community by understanding established indications, as well as techniques to optimize success and reduce complications.

»» Improve the identification of patients with sus­pected anorectal disorders and determine when endoscopic techniques can be used to treat disorders such as hemorrhoid bleeding, pain, anal fissures and perianal fistula; and to understand the inherent limitations.

»» Integrate practice guidelines and expert opinion in the surveillance and treatment of pre­malignant GI mucosal conditions such as Barrett’s esophagus, inflammatory bowel dis­ease, and colon polyps based on advanced imaging techniques.

»» Use the knowledge of drug mechanisms to implement the withholding and resumption of a variety of anti-coagulant and anti-platelet medications in the peri-procedural setting to optimize outcomes for the patient.
