OVERVIEW

The evaluation and treatment of spine problems is complex. It requires the classification of patients into several categories based on specific needs, and in order to make these decisions, the physician must understand the possible diagnostic categories of spine diseases, their natural history and their radiographic characteristics.

Determining the appropriate treatment is often complicated by the lack of appropriate outcome data and the lack of information regarding the natural history of the problem without treatment. In addition to these physical issues, the patients overall outcome can be confounded by psychological and social issues such as the influences of litigation or workers comp.

The following issues will be addressed at this educational event with presentations from experts and panels discussion actual in practice cases.
