OVERVIEW
This seminar provides three and a half days
of comprehensive and practical sessions
designed to help administrative leaders,
board members, physicians, nurses and other
staff, patients, and families become effective
agents for patient- and family-centered
change in their organizations. Participants
will gain the knowledge and skills to begin
to transform health care within hospitals,
ambulatory care settings, and community
organizations to address the challenges and
recommendations discussed in the Institute of
Medicine’s report, Crossing the Quality Chasm:
A New Health System for the 21st Century and
more recently, in Best Care at Lower Cost: The
Path to Continuously Learning Health Care in
America. This seminar will inspire and prepare
participants to move forward with the 2012
IOM recommendation to give patients “the
opportunity to be fully engaged participants
at all levels, including individual care decisions,
health system learning and improvement
activities, and community-based interventions
to promote health.â€
