OVERVIEW
NOTE: This is a one day course. Choose what day to attend (Saturday or Sunday). The program is the same each day.
World Class CME presents a comprehensive, FDA mandated automated breast ultrasound training program which includes both didactic lectures and hands on learning at a multi-planar workstation.
This 8 hour training course meets the FDA qualifications necessary for physicians to use automated breast ultrasound.
The course will provide instruction on recognizing the appearance of normal anatomic structures, benign findings and breast cancer on the unique coronal view, developing a screening workflow, interpretation and reporting process, and pearls and pitfalls for screening breast ultrasound. Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on quality assurance and quality control.
Automated breast ultrasound was developed specifically to assist radiologists in the early detection of breast cancer in women with dense breast tissue. Cancers in dense breast tissue can be difficult to identify with mammography – in fact, breast density obscures cancers that screening with automated breast ultrasound may detect.
Participants will receive guided instruction in 3D automated breast ultrasound interpretation by expert faculty as well as an opportunity to perform independent review of numerous clinical automated breast ultrasound data sets at an independent workstation. After successfully completing an individual skill set assessment, a certificate of completion will be issued.
