This course is designed for urologists who are seeking to acquire knowledge or enhance their abilities to perform robotic renal and adrenal surgery. Didactic presentations will cover robotic technology, patient selection, indications and contraindications, patient preparation and positioning, OR setup, stepwise surgical techniques of radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty and adrenalectomy. Review of large series results and complications associated with renal robotic surgery. Live case demonstrations will include robotic partial nephrectomy, robotic nephrectomy and robotic pyeloplasty with a step-by-step demonstration of the technique.
Hands-on porcine model lab is available for those interested participants to be proctored for placing ports and performing robotic pyeloplasty, partial nephrectomy and radical nephrectomy. Two participants per robot.
The purpose of this course is to teach urologic surgeons how to perform robotic renal and adrenal surgery.
