At the conclusion of this activity, participants will gain a better understanding of the appropriate role of ultrasound, MRI, mammography, and tomosynthesis in breast cancer detection. Participants will implement protocols that appropriately utilize modalities for breast cancer screening, better identifying calcifications, masses, and asymmetries on various breast imaging modalities. Participants will be able to distinguish artifacts and architectural distortion from true masses and asymmetries and be able to discuss the latest imaging and interventional procedures. In addition, in an effort to meet MOC requirements, six self-assessment modules will be offered. Attendees will be able to incorporate standardized breast imaging terminology into their practice, avoid common pitfalls in breast biopsy, and better identify high risk lesions.
