The Addiction Health Services Research Conference 2012 (AHSR 2012) will take place in New York City, at the Desmond Tutu Conference Center, on October 17-19. AHSR welcomes researchers, policymakers, practitioners, scholars, trainees and other stakeholders with a vital interest in health services research as it relates to drug and alcohol use and dependence, and related areas of medical and behavioral health. The focus of AHSR 2012 is on the role the scientific community can take in reconceptualizing health services research so as to best inform the rapidly changing health services arena.
The AHSR 2012 conference will explore a wide range of topics important to Reimagining Health Services Research from the perspectives of the researchers, policymakers, providers and other stakeholders. The plenary speakers, symposia, individual presenters, and poster sessions will provide an opportunity for all to explore new directions in research and services, innovative methodologies, creative approaches to performance measurement and quality improvement, and strategies for advancing science and services. And perhaps most important of all, AHSR provides an opportunity to engage in spirited discussion, to network, and to forge new collaborations with governmental policy-makers, leaders in the research community, provider organizations, and other constituents who are helping to shape this stimulating, and challenging, new world for all stakeholders.
