Orlando, Florida is home to the happiest place on Earth and also to many medical conferences every year. eMedEvents, the world’s largest database for CME/CE medical events, lists Orlando as one of its most popular destinations for medical conferences. It will host 280 medical events in 2018-2019. Orlando-Walt Disney World is also ranked as the number one family vacation spot in the United States. If you plan to earn your next continuing education credits in this sunny city we have a few tips to make your trip memorable.
The best time to visit Orlando is in the spring from March to May. The temperatures are mild with the highs in the 80s. Avoid summer travel if you can, the prices and the temperatures soar during summer vacation. Winters are mild, but prices go up again around the holidays. Fall has pleasant temperatures but is during hurricane season in Florida, so your trip could be interrupted. If your conference is scheduled during the fall, be sure to get refundable flights and hotel just in case.
Orlando is home to the Orlando International Airport. Once you arrive, the best way to get around Orlando is by car. You will find plenty of rental car options at the airport and can book ahead of time on eMedEvents.com. The ride-sharing companies Uber and Lyft are also available in Orlando. Check to see if your hotel offers shuttle service from the airport. Public transportation is limited here. Taxis are available at the airport, but not readily available around town unless you call ahead.
Orlando is an international tourist destination so you will find food to suit almost any taste here. Florida is also known for its seafood and Latin American influences. You will find plenty of Puerto Rican and other Latin influences to try in Orlando. We have a few recommendations for you when you step away from the conference for a bite.
