Denver, CO is more than just the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. This thriving city continues to grow and has so much to offer in its own right. According to eMedEvents, the largest online database of CME events, Denver will be host to 92 upcoming medical conferences in 2018 and 2019. If you will be traveling to the Mile-High City for your next conference, we have a few helpful tips to get you ready to enjoy Denver for both work and play.

The best times to visit Denver are late Spring and early Fall when the temperatures are most comfortable, and the tourism and prices are at their lowest. Average highs during this time of year are in the 60s and 70s. Prices and temperatures rise in the summer, with average highs in the upper 80s. Winter is a great time to visit the nearby ski slopes if you can, and highs will average in the lower 40s.

Getting Around

Denver is home to the passenger-rated favorite Denver International Airport. There are plenty of options to get you to your conference destination once you arrive. The Airport Rail travels takes you from the airport to downtown Union Station for only $9 one way. There are also airport shuttles, buses, rental car companies as well as Uber and Lyft. Denver is home to the Regional Transport District (RTD) which provides public transportation for the Denver region. One day and 5-day passes are available for unlimited bus and light rail service in the metro area. Want to try another way to experience Denver? There are Smart cars that can be accessed “on demand” all over the city, as well as bike sharing. There is also the 16th Street MallRide, a free hybrid vehicle that scoots up and down the core of downtown Denver. Downtown is a walkable area, but if you get tired of walking you can hail a pedicab or even a horse and carriage.
