Description:
This course offers the latest insight into pulmonary rehabilitation, bringing together the viewpoints of both clinicians and physiotherapists. Participants will be provided with a comprehensive overview on when and how treatments should be delivered taking into account the latest guidelines in the field, as well as promising new tools and approaches.
Learning outcomes:
Following this course, participants will be able to:
• Describe the optimal implementation of comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation strategies for patients with chronic obstructive and restrictive lung diseases.
• Describe the different components of pulmonary rehabilitation and the necessary tools to assess the efficacy of this intervention.
• Introduce in clinical practice novel patient reported outcomes and methods for assessing daily physical activity in patients with chronic obstructive and restrictive lung diseases.
• Implement physical activity measurements to evaluate the patient's functional performance before and after pulmonary rehabilitation.
• Appreciate the important adverse effects on functional capacity caused by abnormal haemodynamic function in patients with chronic obstructive and restrictive lung diseases.
• Design a comprehensive pulmonary rehabilitation programme, taking into account patients' abilities and preferences, within a health care system.
• Adapt programmes to accommodate comorbidities and other non-respiratory problems.
• Propose strategies to enhance physical activity in individuals with lung disease.
• Appreciate the barriers that prevent patients to enrol and complete pulmonary rehabilitation programmes.
• Learn how to increase awareness and knowledge of benefits associated with pulmonary rehabilitation among health professionals and patients.
An application will be made to EACCME for CME accreditation of this event. The number of credits that you will receive corresponds to your attendance during the course. Please note that you need to sign the register of attendance each day to ensure that you receive the CME credits.

Laparoscopic CME Course is organized by European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) and will be held from Jan 22 - 23, 2020 at ORSI Institute, Ghent, East Flanders, Belgium.
Description:
This course is part of the laparoscopic CME programme is a training initiative by ESCP's European School of Coloproctology. The programme aims to promote laparoscopic complete mesocolic excision for colon cancer.
Selection criteria:
• Teams of two surgeons per hospital (1 lead surgeon, 1 assistant)
• Appropriate experience
○ Lead surgeon should be proficient in laparoscopic colorectal surgery
○ Minimum experience 50+ laparoscopic colorectal resections
○ Board certified (e.g. EBSQ, FRCS, Specialist in General and/or Coloproctology)
• Institutional experience
○ Annual turnover of colon and rectum cancer of >50/year
○ Accessibility to appropriate laparoscopic infrastructure
• Letter of support by Head of Department/Hospital
Course:
• Two-day course in Hamburg, with the aims:
○ To understand the evidence and rationale of CME
○ To master anatomy, operative planning and quality control
○ To achieve optimal results for individual patients
○ To learn operative technique
• Hands-on operative training in high quality cadaveric models
Proctorship:
Minimum of 2 x 2-day visits with the aim to perform 4 or more laparoscopic colon resections
