20th European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT) Congress is organized by European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT) and will be held from Jun 05 - 07, 2019 at Congress Center in Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal. Conference Description: This conference aims to provide worthy scientific guidance via the presentation of well-established medical techniques, but also to highlight new evidence in emerging fields. Renowned experts will discuss their procedures, the rationale for their decisions, their successes and failures. At the Congress, an important source of international knowledge and experience in the prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system will be within your reach. As EFORT is the biggest European platform to share orthopaedic and trauma knowledge, an active participation in our upcoming 2019 Congress is the best opportunity to identify new data related to any specialty, gather useful tips and tricks to enhance daily medical achievements and expand the professional network. The main Theme of this congress is Registries & Impact On Practice. The most important aim of joint arthroplasty is to find the best solution not only for the patient, but also for both the implant and the bearings to make the “new joint” work perfectly for the rest of the patient’s life. Science, research and especially long-term national registry investigations have all given good guidance on when the risk of joint arthroplasty failure is higher compared to other implants and/or situations. Thus, the use of registry data from research to education purposes is key to provide advice and awareness, experiences and practices in medical device surveillance and arthroplasty outcomes to improve patient care. Conference Highlights: • Patient selection • Implant selection • Implant survival • Prediction of outcome • Value based healthcare • Revision rate • Patient safety • Quality improvement • Patient reported outcome • Patient involvement Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.

4th Functional Oxide Thin Films for Advanced Energy and Information Technology Conference is organized by Fusion Conferences Ltd and will be held from Jul 17 - 20, 2019 at Dolce CampoReal Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugals. Course Description: Complex oxide thin films are finding applications in a wide range of energy and information technologies, including electron and ion conductors, photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, dielectrics, and resistive switching. Irrespective of whether single thin films or more sophisticated multilayered systems are employed, each of these technologies requires a thorough knowledge of the oxide physicochemical properties, its interactions with the environment and the role of defect/interface/boundary effects that might stem between film and substrate, layers with different compositions or even simply from the grain boundaries. Whilst depending on the technology area the key properties might be different, many of the materials optimization strategies may be common. Therefore, we believe that the discussion between diverse and even complementary researchers’ communities can be extremely beneficial for a better understanding of the crucial aspects that need to be addressed to improve materials properties. The purpose of this meeting is hence to foster the exchange of ideas between the relevant energy and information themes with the overall aim of sparking extensive discussions of the advances that materials physics and chemistry can make in thin film applications. Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.

Niche-epithelial Stem Cell Interactions in Lung Health and Disease Conference is organized by Fusion Conferences Ltd and will be held from Jul 20 - 23, 2019 at Dolce CampoReal Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal. Conference Description: The different epithelial stem/progenitor cells identified so far in the different regions of the lung interact with specific stromal, and physical/mechanical, niches. Some of these niches have recently been characterized. These niches dictate the quiescence of the epithelial stem/progenitor cells, as well as their re-entry into the cell cycle and subsequent differentiation. The mesenchyme, which gives rise to different stromal cell niches has so far been understudied during development, homeostasis, injury/repair and disease development. Similarly, the effects on stem cells of the physical/mechanical properties of their local environment are just beginning to be explored. Conference Key Sessions: • Stem cell niches in lung development. • Stem cell niches in lung homeostasis and repair. • Breaking niche regulation in lung cancer. • Characterisation of epithelial and mesenchymal progenitor cell populations. Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
