Mammakarzinom Update 2019 is organized by MCI Deutschland GmbH and will be held on Jun 22, 2019 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany. Prof. Dr. med. Volkmar Müller would like to invite you to Hamburg for an interactive and up-to-date event on June 22nd. The treatment of patients with breast cancer has developed dramatically in recent years. In addition to the progression of treatment in the established subgroups (hormone receptor and HER2 status), there are now therapies that are based on individual molecular characteristics, such as the PARP inhibitor therapy in BRCA mutant patients. In addition, tests are under development to establish additional markers within subgroups to predict the efficacy of therapy. They would like to introduce all these aspects to you and discuss the implementation for our patients. They will take into account the current recommendations of AGO Mamma and the latest results from ASCO. In addition, They will have enough time for case discussions in small groups and a personal exchange. They look forward to an exciting discussion with you! The Breast Cancer Breast Cancer 2019 is a brand new MCI Academy event series. From June to August 2019, 5 events will take place throughout Germany on the latest study results and therapy trends for breast cancer. In keynote speeches and ContentCamps a high practical relevance is conveyed and the discussion and active participation of the participants are promoted. The MCI Academy is the organizer of content-centered medical continuing education events that combine completely new types of event formats with innovative forms of interaction. Speaker: Prof. Dr. med. Volkmar Müller Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Practical integrative structural biology is organized by Jan Kosinski and will be held from Nov 03 - 09, 2019 at CSSB, Center for Structural Systems Biology, Hamburg, Germany. Description: Characterizing the structure of macromolecular complexes is crucial for understanding their function. For many complexes, however, solving their structure using a single structural biology technique is very challenging. Integrative structural biology combines different experimental techniques with computational modeling to build structural models of such challenging complexes. Application of integrative structural biology requires an in-depth understanding of both different experimental approaches and computational modeling. To provide advanced training in such a highly interdisciplinary skill set, this EMBO Practical Course will teach how to interpret data from major structural biology techniques and how to integrate this data using computational methods. The course located at the Hamburg Unit of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and the Center for Structural Systems Biology on the DESY campus will provide on-site synchrotron SAXS and MX beamlines for training. Hands-on practicals will use a well-studied model system, for which data from all main structural biology techniques are available. The participants will learn both how to collect at on-site structural biology facilities, how to analyze these data and how to subsequently build integrative models using major software packages developed by invited speakers. A guided visit to the European XFEL site is also included into the program, in part to trigger discussions on future integrative structural biology approaches. Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
