Description: This advanced course has been revised this year to enhance the understanding of the contributing underlying impingement (compression) and instability (malalignment) considerations associated with typical impingement or instability syndromes. Participants will be able to relate and integrate calcaneal (ground) impingement with femoral instability, pelvis impingement and scapula instability or thoracic malalignment. Impingement and instability integration, for ground control and overhead activity, will be introduced using PRI reference centers and frontal plane oscillation. Scapula function will be presented to reduce femoral/tibia instability, and associated thoracic, calcaneal/talus, and pelvis impingement. Objectives: • Identify the key concepts of the Left AIC and Right BC patterns that influence the need for calcaneal and pelvis impingement, and femoral and scapula instability. • Recognize references that interfere with and influence patterns of gait. • Establish a plan of care, incorporating scapula function, to reduce thoracic impingement and femoral/tibia instability. • Outline grouped supination and pronation patterns of afferentation that compromises decompression (impingement) and control (instability) in the frontal plane.
